Honest. Our tiny town of Warren, Vermont (pop 2,000) bills itself as ‘The Fourth of July Capital of the Universe.’ The entire celebration revolves around the Warren Parade – a unique, quirky, often political and always hilarious event that typically draws a crowd of 10,000 from New England and beyond, in the absence of a pandemic. After slightly smaller crowds over the past 2 years, the Warren Parade was back with a vengeance…
Our blog is intended to be a fun, occasionally irreverent and hopefully entertaining summary of our adventure travels, with a few potentially interesting updates tossed in when we’re not traveling. We try to not be too serious, we respect everyone’s right to their own set of beliefs, and we usually stay away from heated topics of the day. The Warren Parade has no such self-imposed restrictions, as you will see in the photos below. Of course, we do have such a set of beliefs of our own, and though we were sitting on the sidelines watching the parade rather than marching in it, we were cheering loudly and sincerely.
The post-parade activities include a street dance, this year hosted by the Bruce Sklar Band and well as kid activities, a beer garden and of course lots and lots of food. The post post-parade activities featured everybody’s favorite local band – The Detonators (not to be confused with The Destinators – that’s us). The parade eve festivities featured everybody’s other favorite band – The Grift. Music lovers’ nirvana!
