We met Stephane Chamberland, an internationally known drum educator, at the Drumeo meet up in Toronto last July. His session there was amazing – a series of small yet effective changes that would radically transform the sound of our drumming. At that time I knew that if I ever made it anywhere near Quebec City, I’d be signing up for a private lesson. We’re in Quebec City. Time for a lesson!
I requested a very specific lesson – ideas to accelerate my return to drumming (I’ve been away for 3 years due to an injury) while traveling and living in a 110-square foot RV with a practice pad, sticks and a practice pedal, and of course, my suitcase kit. With his well known humor, endless supportive energy and brilliant bag of tricks, Stephane exceeded my expectations. I was highly motivated to get back to drumming before leaving for this trip. Now, I just wanna bang the drum all day!

In addition to the lesson, it was fun to get a tour of his studio, totally digitized to allow virtual lessons and recording during the covid years. And it was a treat to meet his new puppy, Jack.
