Sue, Iris, Doug
Our last stop before we arrive in Toronto was Brampton, ON where we enjoyed getting together with our musician friend, Iris. Of course, it was an opportunity to jam!
I’ve been taking on-line drum lessons for a few years through Drumeo. The company has now expanded to include Singeo, Pianote and Guitareo and is bringing these all together under a group called Musora. In the past year, both Doug and I joined Singeo and Pianote, seeking to expand our musical horizons, and it is through both that we met Iris, living near Toronto, also following her musical passion.
We got together for dinner and enjoyed getting to know each other better, a benefit only a live rendezvous can offer. We had planned to jam outside at our campsite, however, on this very windy day in our lovely campground bordered by a highway and a busy pair of railroad tracks, we found we couldn’t hear each other. So we set up the instruments – piano, guitar and snare drum – inside the RV aka mobile recording studio.
Of course, this was the first time we played together with Iris. We just tossed out tunes from our respective song lists, picked a few, pulled out chord charts and started to play. Considering that, we played music that was certainly perfect enough for our very first jam!
OMG, the youtube views look like we’re on our way to going viral! And, as always, we’re looking forward to many more opportunities to jam…
