A Few Covers

This isn’t really its own separate project, but here are a few things we’ve been working on in the spring and summer of 2021. These are on Youtube, but rather than videos of us playing they are audio files behind a photo or, in one or two cases, a slide show.

You Can’t Always Get What You Want

Here is a Rolling Stones cover. Doug played the guitars, vocals, and percussion in real life (IRL) and, with help from Sue, programmed the drums in the DAW (DAW). We did not have a choir to work with, so we left that part out. Pictures are nothing special – they were selected from our travels if they kind of fit (or even if they didn’t).

The Last Time

Here is a cover of a Rolling Stones tune from 1965. Drums are programmed, and all the other noises (including the tambourine) were made by Doug. Photo is of the Seaview Cafe in Hope, AK.

Bell Bottom Blues

In this one, Doug is on lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, vocals and backing vocals and Sue did the drum track. The photo is from Pismo Beach:

Across The Universe

Here we have Doug on vocals, electric, acoustic, and bass guitars; Sue on drums (kick) and percussion (shaker). Photo was taken along the Denali Highway:

Wilder

This video features a slide show from a hike we did in Kachemak Bay State Park in Alaska. The slide show is set to Ryan Follese’s song Wilder for which the vocal and instrument tracks (minus the drums) were provided by Drumeo. The drum track is Sue’s own transcription based on a performance by Harry Miree.

Knockin’ On Your Screen Door

This is a cover of the song by the late John Prine from his final album, The Tree of Forgiveness. Doug sings and plays electric, acoustic and bass guitars. Photo is from a campground in Hope, AK.
