Quebec City, partie 3 – fermer le cercle

The first night of this trip, on June 10, was spent in Quebec City. After 100 days on the road covering 11,000 km/7,000 miles and 5 provinces, we’ve come full circle back to Quebec City. We’re quite proud of that circle! And now, the adventure portion of this trip is behind us. Ha! Not without one more quick visit to the city… ‘Je me souviens!’

Street art

We arrived late on a beautiful afternoon and took a quick walk around the old town to stretch our legs. We discovered an antique car festival – going on townwide, as far as we could tell – then we found a series of new artists’ installations that had appeared since our last visit. We wandered over to an open Irish jam session, which turned out to be a great place to hang for an hour or so…

We’d made arrangements again to meet my cousins for lunch in the old city. Despite an ominous forecast and it being late September in Quebec City, we were able to have a wonderful, long and leisurely outdoor lunch trading stories about travel and family history, and making plans for further rendezvous.

Street piano (check out the busking rig!)

As we were getting ready to part, we came upon a street musician with a fun piano style, jazzy tunes and a very cool busking rig, right across the way from a surprisingly comfortable bench.

The view from camp

We said our au revoirs and à bientôts, and Doug and I made it back to our ‘camp’ (a downtown Quebec City parking lot at the marina that the city has set aside for RVs) just ahead of the deluge.
